Lifestyle Tips

Nasturtiums

Plant this 'sacrificial' flower wherever you have aphid trouble in your garden. They will draw common garden pests away from your prized crops.

Birdhouses

birdhouses

If you plan on putting up birdhouses, put them up in groups of 3, as the male bird will more likely find a mate if he has 3 choices of lodging to present to the female he is courting.

Burlap

Steel Wool

Steel Wool

After you have finished pruning your roses, use steel wool to rub the base of each bush to encourage more nodes to emerge. They will send out new shoots in the spring.

Don’t burn your Christmas tree

don't burn trees

Never burn trees (branches or needles) in a fireplace. Firs and pines have a lot of sap, which can explode. Flames can flare up out of control and send sparks flying across the room. Creosote deposits can also ignite in the chimney, and cause a chimney fire. The best way to dispose of your tree is to take it to a recycling center

All the images I have saved up over the past year of creative Christmas decorations are all posted in my latest blog: blog.priscillawoolworth.com
