My favorite resource for information relating to health and the environment, the EWG (Environmental Working Group) has just released their latest Dirty Dozen/Clean 15 list, a comprehensive list of the foods you can buy conventionally grown and the foods that you should buy organically grown.

Did you know…that the illegal wildlife trade is the third largest illicit trade after drugs and arms and is responsible for the extinction of many animals and plant species. Traffic works around the world to ensure that the trade in wildlife is not a threat to the conservation of nature.
Donate Airline Miles
Do you have lots of airline miles and don't know what to do with them? Donate them to the American Red Cross to help transport volunteers and staff to disaster areas.
Eco Tip: Action Against Hunger

The AAH is a 30 year old international humanitarian organization committed to ending world hunger. They works to save the lives of malnourished children while providing communities with sustainable access to safe water and long-term solutions to hunger. The AAH responds to chronic food shortages and emergencies created by conflict or natural disaster, running lifesaving programs in more than 40 countries, benefiting some 5 million people each year. This is just so amazing! I love this site! http://khanacademy.org, a non-profit, offers 2,100 free educational videos. Anyone anywhere can choose to learn about arithmetic, physics, finance and history. After perusing the many choices, I can't wait to learn more about Finances, the French Revolution and a fun Brain Teaser sounds pretty great as well.

To raise awareness of the horrifying amount of plastic floating in the North Pacific Gyre, an enormous 'garbage patch' caught up in the swirling Pacific Ocean currents and estimated to be the size of Texas, The Plastiki, a catamaran made with twelve thousand plastic bottles, sailed from San Francisco to Sidney. They arrived on July 26th 2010, after four months and much press covering their effort.
